Welcome to Villa Margaux in Greece !

Located on the beautiful island of Lefkada, surrounded by the crystal clear waters of Ionian Sea, Villa Margaux is ideal for your holidays with family and friends.

White limestone cliffs and sandy beaches cover the entire west coast of the island, and that is where the name Lefkada (lefko = white) comes from. In contrast, the east coast is very green, quiet and has lots of little creeks. Lefkada used to be connected to the mainland, it was a peninsula, until the 7th C BC. At that time, the Corinthians separated it from the mainland by digging a channel, and thus making it an island. Nowadays Lefkada is connected to the mainland by a floating bridge and is thus easily accessible at all times. It is a beautiful island, with some of the best white sandy beaches of Europe. It has a luxurious vegetation of mostly pine and olive trees. The island is the biggest wine producer of the Ionian Islands.

Known by watersports lovers for its fantastic wind- and kitesurfing spots, its marina, the diving, fishing, etc…, Lefkada offers everything for an active or a relaxing holiday. Culture and history are available on the island and on the archaeological sites nearby on the mainland. The quite mountainous interior of the island, the highest point is at 1150m, is ideal for hiking, biking, or just driving around by car. Olive groves, pine trees, donkeys and goats and small traditional hidden villages await you here.

For those of you who prefer a more relaxing holiday, plenty of beaches, beach bars, restaurants etc… are at your disposal. The colours of the surrounding nature, the different shades of blue of the sea, … just looking at it while you are sipping an ouzo or a glass of local wine with some mezzedes is what makes your holiday here a success.

Die Villa Margaux verfügt über viele Annehmlichkeiten!

Wir waren 4 Familien und verbrachten einen unvergesslichen Urlaub auf Lefkada! Die Villa Margaux verfügt über viele Annehmlichkeiten! Eine geräumige Küche, schöne und saubere Zimmer! Beim Frühstück konnten wir jeden Tag im Schatten den herrlichen - fast kitschigen Ausblick aufs Meer genießen! Jeden Abend waren traumhafte Sonnenuntergänge zu beobachten, die genossen wir dann gemütlich bei einem Achterl Wein auf der gemütlichen Lounge! Auch der Pool war ein Traum!

Die Villa wurde auch zwischendurch gereinigt, die beiden Hausbesorger standen uns mit Rat und Tat zur Seite und gaben uns viele wertvolle Tipps!

Ein unvergesslicher Urlaub! Jederzeit wieder!

Villa op schitterende lokatie. vlakbij strand en toch rustig. Iedere avond genieten van prachtige zonsondergang. We waren er ruim 2 weken met 2 families maar zowel binnen als buiten veel ruimte om terug te trekken of juist gezamenlijke activiteiten te ondernemen. Sterke aanrader!

Vermieter und Mitarbeiter sehr Hilfsbereit bei der Anreise und Betreuung.Wochenmitte wurde die ganze Villa und der Pool gereinigt.Sogar frische Bettwäsche und Handtücher wurden gewechselt.Super Service bekommt man nicht überall.

Auto oder Motorrad zumEinkaufen und zum Strand erforderlich.

Wir waren 11Pers.und alle schwärmen von dieser großartigen Villa.Ganz besonderen Dank an Francis und Ilse fuer die Hilfestellung bei unseren Notfall.

It was heaven!! - 5/5 stars

It really is better than you can imagine from the photos. House was great. Pool was perfect and the view just amazing. Lots of space and very private. The owners and the local caretakers were SO helpful, without being intrusive in any way. My only issue is that while you can walk down to the beach, it’s a rather a hike back up! So we ended up driving more than We anticipated. But we did love the beach and the delicious meals we had at the local tavernas on the beach. All In All, it was heaven!

Wir haben unsere Ferienwoche in Ihrem Haus sehr genossen. Das Haus war sehr sauber und gut ausgestattet, alles hat einwandfrei funktioniert.
Aber das Schönste war für uns der wundervolle Blick auf das Meer! Das war einmalig!
Vielen Dank auch für den freundlichen Empfang und das nette Willkommenspaket.

Nächstes Jahr wird es für uns wohl nichts mit einem Urlaub in Griechenland werden, aber wir können diese Unterkunft auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen und geraten bei unseren Erzählungen zuhause immer wieder ins Schwärmen...

About the villa

Villa Margaux is located in Kathisma, right on top of one of the best beaches of the island, to which you can just walk down. The town of Lefkada is about 15 km away.

The nearest-by village is Agios Nikitas, at about 2 km. Here you can find restaurants, bars, shops and small supermarkets. It is a very animated village.

The villa has 6 bedrooms each with private bathroom. Divided into 2 separate floors, the villa can cater for parties up to 12 persons. A huge sun terrace with private pool overlooks the white sandy beach of Kathisma. There is an al-fresco dining area with exterior kitchen. Pool loungers around the pool for sunbathing and settees in shaded areas complete the exterior.

The ground floor has 1 twin bedroom with en-suite shower room and access to the pool terrace, 1 double bedroom with en-suite shower room and 1 twin bedroom with separate bathroom with bubble bath. A large modern open kitchen is equipped with a freezer, fridge, ice maker, ceramic hob, microwave, double sink and dishwasher. The dining room can seat 12 persons and has direct access to the pool terrace.

The first floor offers 1 twin bedroom with access to the terrace and with a separate shower room, 1double bedroom with en-suite shower room and 1 double bedroom with en-suite bathroom with bath tub. On this level you will find the saloon area with cosy settees, television and mini-bar. A big sun terrace overlooking the pool and turquoise waters of Kathisma beach complete this level. The entire house is air-conditioned/heated, and all windows have insect screens and shutters. Have a look at the photo gallery for more pictures.

How to get there ?

By car :

Lefkada is easily accessible by car. The roads are good and Lefkada is very well indicated. Click here for a map.

By ferry :

Ferries from Italy come to Igoumenitsa, about 130 km from Lefkada. From there, a good road will get you here in less than 2 hours. Click here for details.

Ferries from Ithaca and Keffalonia come straight to the island, in Vassiliki, about 1 hour drive from the villa.

By plane :

The nearest airport is Preveza/Aktio, located at about 30km from Lefkada. There are charter flights from most European countries from April through October. From here, you can either rent a car or take a taxi.

By bus :

From the Athens bus station, you can take a bus 4 times a day. The trip takes about 5 hours in a comfortable airconditioned coach.
